  2. Interesting. While I can’t speak much for Japan, this “Don’t Puke Here” sign would have been very appropriate in Korea. Koreans are very fond of a local alcoholic drink called Soju, which packs an extraordinarily heavy punch. (Half of one bottle, about the size of a Coke can, is enough to get most women there snockered. Men will get rip-roaring drunk on about two bottles.) Unfortunately, many Koreans can’t hold their liquor and I can’t tell you how many times I had to do ballet steps, circling around some “sidewalk pizza” that someone had kindly deposited. Taxi drivers would also appreciate that sign there; I’ve heard a few stories of guys puking in cabs. Of course the taxi drivers were not amused.
