The Screen Savers

Out of morbid curiosity, I endured the premiere episode of the new incarnation of The Screen Savers. Here’s my review (I’m stealing a bit from a classic Bloom County strip):

G4TechTV’s recently retooled The Screen Savers has brought the word “bad” to new levels of badness. This show just oozed rottenness from every bad segment… Simply bad beyond all infinite dimensions of possible badness.

Well maybe not that bad, but lord, it wasn’t good. Yes, it was that bad.

I WANTED TO CRY WHATCHING LAST NIGHTS SHOW I MISS ALEX AND KEVIN! WITH THEM THE SHOW WAS INFORMATIVE AND FUNNY AND IF ONE OR THE OTHER SCREWED UP THEY WOULD JUST MAKE FUN OF IT. 5. I am appalled at how disgustingly bad last night’s program was.

What was once the flagship program on computers and software, has now degenerated into a bunch of teenager-type idiots spitting at each other.

I used to watch TSS to find out more about computers. Since the G4 merger, it slowly got to the point where you could not go five minutes without them talking about games somehow.

There IS a world out there that has NOTHING to do with games (believe it or not).

I always knew that if I wished to know more about games, I could tune in at some point during the OTHER 23 HOURS OF THE DAY, and find out anything I wanted to know about cheats, games, whatever.

But the producers in charge of TSS began to cave in, and now TSS is not about computers or tech UNLESS it relates to games.

I will just say FUCK CHARLES HIRSCHORN! Besides being the CEO of G4Media, he is a fine example of a fucking NETWORK EXECUTIVE who does not care one bit about the non-gaming viewers of G4/TechTV, or is so out of touch with reality that the programming on his network will drastically lose viewership.

He does NOT understand that there are MANY computer users OVER THE AGE OF 14 who are easily bored by the pre-pubescent and juvenile bullshit spewed forth ad nauseum on G4/TechTV.

He needs to drop the “TechTV” part of the name, and call it THE GAMING CHANNEL!

And to the producers of TSS: You sorry bastards are not worthy to eat my shit. FUCK YOU!

  6. TSS sucks ass. it is so bad. Mu-lan or whatever she is called is a nice piece of eyecandy but frankly offers nothing to viewers of a tech show. Kevin Too is pretty lame. No Yoshi? WHat’s with that? I even miss Dan…
What’s with the crappy BMX segment? who gives a shit about BMX?
Bye bye TSS - you are OFF OF MY TIVO YOU G4 PRODUCER SHITHEADS!

  7. I was a big fan of TSS and CFH since 99. I used to tape everyshow and watch to cut out commercials. Since G4 took over the shows not even worth the time of day anymore. G4 took a really good learning TV show and turned into pile crap.

  8. HOLY BALLS the new show blows. to quote an old sailor that it blind in one eye and a patch of the other “Yar she blows”.

After watching the opening segment I wanted to gouge my eyes out with a rusty nail, squish them, and finally eat them with a bucket of raw beef. and im pretty sure that would not get the images out of my mind and that rotten taste in my mouth.
