K-HITS 96 RESTRUCTURES PROGRAMMING TO OFFER MORE MUSIC

Station Releases Corcoran, Kruze and Others to Pare Costs, Boost Ratings.

St. Louis, October 26, 2009…… K-HITS 96, St. Louis’ only radio station playing exclusively classic rock hits from four decades, today announced a major shake-up in its daily programming. Effective immediately, The Showgram, K-HITS morning talk show, will be discontinued and replaced with an all-music format hosted by St. Louis radio veteran Rick Sanborn. Changes are also being made to the station’ss late afternoon show. Long-time station personalities Katy Kruze and Carl “the Intern” Middleman have been let go. While J. C. Corcoran will not be on the air he remains under contract with Emmis Radio until December 2010. Showgram personalities John Ulett and Laurie Mac will remain in mornings on K-Hits with Rick Sanborn.

This sucks. It’s like being a moron is a prerequisite for going into radio station management.

The main reason that I have been listening to K-Hits 96 is because I liked J.C. Corcoran. You have permanently lost me as a listener.

  2. jerry walls says:

thank you very much for getting rid of corcoran!!! I knew there had to be some educated people there b/c it surely wasn’t jc, I can listen to your station again but only in the mourning! I would listen in the afternoon but I’m sick of getting a history lesson by radio rich every time he plays a song!! If I want a lesson I’ll look it up on the internet, and in the evening your station turns into a KSHE sister station. can anybody out there just play classic rock? GO with mark close he knows what people want. If this email really does get read would you let me know please jerry 52 year old from south county thank you

    • Drew Brown says:

Jerry Walls you have no idea what you are talking about. Radio Rich is a cesspool of knowledge so maybe you should lend your ear a bit more and listen. You might learn something…… J.C. provided the entertainment that would captivate everyone that listened…….even the people who hated J.C…….Case and point is Jerry here…..

    • RealRockRoy says:

Maybe you should invest in an ipod

  3. Patty says:

    Big Mistake

  4. darren g says:

j.c and his liberal bias will not be missed at all. Its going to be nice to just listed to some classic rock in the morning for a while.

  5. Angela says:

This station can’t last much longer with this so-called format. It’s a snoozer.

  6. Eric says:

Definatly a snoozer now. I just moved here a year ago and JC is what kept me going in the morning and woke me up on the way to work. You have now lost a listener

  7. Rich Oliver says:

Since JC’s departure I’m still flippin through the stations looking for any signs of personality providing some entertainment, comedy and useful info… NOTHING yet. Just waiting for JC to show up on another station. K-Hits lost this listener and many others. BIG mistake you Radio management morons.

  9. RealRockRoy says:

They expect a morning show that they have to beat another morning show they have. It’s like playing chess against yourself. Get a clue Emmis.

  10. Linda says:

I feel like I lost a couple of friends, I disconnected XM but now I have turned it back on and still can not find anything as entertaining as the morning show. If I wanted more music I would have changed the channel. What I miss the most is the combination of John’s audience to JC, I miss the laughter

  11. M.S. - show gram fan says:

Since the morning show gram was discontinued, I have since found a different station to listen to. I was so dissapointed in the decision to cancel the show. J.C. was pure entertainment and the current show is boring. The station has lost me as a listener

  12. MIKE says:

this is a joke . you may not like what jc said but at least he told the truth. even my wife like jc.cant wait till he has another show i will go back to him.been a jc fan 12 years no one can top him .good luck jc

good riddance to JC. What a putz. Rather hear the music and Rick Sanborn anyday.

  14. gg says:

  15. jamie says:

thank god jc is gone. i say more music, less crappy talk, is a big winner for me. imagine a music station that plays music…..what a concept!
